Heat Map

A visual representation showing where users click, move their mouse, or focus their attention on a webpage. Heat maps reveal user behavior patterns and help identify optimization opportunities.

Landing Page

A standalone webpage designed specifically for a marketing campaign, typically where visitors “land” after clicking an ad or email link. Optimized for a single conversion goal.

Lead Magnet

A valuable free resource (ebook, checklist, webinar) offered in exchange for contact information. Used to generate leads and begin nurturing potential customers.

Micro-Conversion

Small actions that indicate user engagement and progress toward a primary conversion, such as email signups, video views, or adding items to cart. Important leading indicators of conversion intent.

P-Value

A statistical measure indicating the probability that test results occurred by chance. A p-value of 0.05 or lower typically indicates statistical significance in A/B testing.

Above the Fold

The portion of a webpage that’s visible without scrolling when a page first loads. Critical for capturing immediate visitor attention and should contain key value propositions and calls-to-action.

Segment

A subset of your audience grouped by shared characteristics (demographics, behavior, traffic source). Segmentation allows for targeted optimization strategies and personalized experiences.

Attribution

The process of determining which marketing touchpoints deserve credit for a conversion. Common models include first-click, last-click, and multi-touch attribution to understand the customer journey.
